2013 Confluence History

CONFLUENCE, The Annual Literary Sci-Fi/F/H Conference in Pittsburgh, PA  originally scheduled for July 19-21, 2013 was cancelled due to the Holiday Inn Hotel cancelling our contract.*
THERE WILL BE NO CONFLUENCE 2013!


Notes: Convention was scheduled for July 26-28. FFG was slated to be Brooke Abbey. Play was slated to be “Harry Potter’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” (a travesty of the Harry Potter novels by J. K. Rowling set to Beatles music), written by Randy Hoffman and the Parallax Second Players for performance by the Parallax Second Players. However, the convention hotel was closed and the convention had to be canceled.

*THE HOTEL HAS BEEN SOLD AND WILL NO LONGER BE FUNCTIONING AS A HOTEL
The Holiday Inn Airport is closing 4 days before the conference. The hotel informed us of this very recently. The committee is unable to find an alternate site on short notice.
We wanted to inform everyone who might be considering attending/working Confluence as soon as possible.
Our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience. 
We are all saddened by this sudden turn of events.
